PCSD students head back to school tomorrow! Unsure if you need to stop for the school bus? In MOST cases, the answer is yes but here are some tips:
🚍 𝗧𝘄𝗼-𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀: Vehicles in both directions MUST stop.
🚍 𝗠𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶-𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀: Vehicles in both directions MUST stop.
🚍 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀: Would include an unpaved space 5 ft.+/raised median/physical barrier. Vehicles behind the bus MUST stop. Vehicles in the opposite direction are not required to stop but should proceed with caution.
Let’s keep our kids safe on the road. 🚸 Check out these graphics showcasing the different examples and remember – when in doubt – put safety first and make the choice to just stop. 🛑

🚨 Mentoring, at its core, guarantees young people that someone cares about them, assures them that they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter. Research confirms that quality mentoring relationships positively affect young people in various personal, academic, and professional situations. Mentoring connects young people to personal growth, development, and social and economic opportunities.
We are looking for a few good men and women passionate about youth in this community! We're not asking for too much, but we are asking for an hour of your time once a week. Consider being a mentor with the Putnam County School District Reach One Teach One Mentoring Program!
For more information, contact Justin Campbell at jcampbell@my.putnamschools.org or 386-329-0532 Ext 1255. (We are looking to offer in-person or virtual mentoring for those out of town. Justin will be hosting a training in August before the start of school for interested mentors.)
