In commemoration of Black History Month, PCSD continues its tradition of celebrating the rich heritage of African Americans throughout the United States. This year's event, held on February 16th at the C.L. Overturf, Jr. District Center, showcased the theme of "Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future" with a focus on acknowledging the contributions of African Americans in various fields.

State Attorney for the 7th Circuit, R.J. Larizza, held a roundtable meeting with the Superintendents from Flagler, Putnam, St Johns and Volusia counties to discuss student safety and its impact on student success. This work will continue with an initiative to be proactive when working with our schools and families. PCSD Superintendent, Dr. Rick Surrency, expressed his gratitude for the meeting, "This collaboration will strengthen our efforts to serve our communities."
