On Monday evening at C.L. Overturf District Center, community members asked questions and shared ideas with PCSD leaders. Some of the topics that were discussed included the Revitalization Plan, new Florida B.E.S.T. Standards, current discipline issues, and equity practices.
The event allowed community members to submit questions in advance through an anonymous survey. Attendees could also ask questions live during the event either in person or through a zoom link. Leaders were able to provide gathered data for questions submitted before the event. Other ideas and suggestions informed leaders of ways to better serve all students and families.
The district would like to thank Mikie Helms for technical support and Priscilla Perry for being available for any participants needing translation services.
The district is planning a similar event for January in the south end of the district. A later event will be scheduled for the west end of the district. All PCSD families and community members are encourage to join us at any of these locations and stay engaged!
