Letter from the Superintendent

PCSD Students, Families, and Staff, I want to thank you all for your patience and support as we strive to maintain a safe learning and working environment during the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout this year, we have relied on the recommendations of our state and local public health agencies as we established safety protocols. Over the next two weeks, many of our students will still be completing high-stakes assessments. We feel it is imperative to maintain the established health and safety protocols through the last day of school on June 10, 2021.

Beginning with the 2021 summer programs and for the 2021-22 school year, it is our intent to use the following guidelines:

  • Face masks will be optional in all schools/facilities and on PCSD transportation.
  • Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols will continue in all PCSD facilities.
  • All athletics, school events/performances, and student activities will continue using recommended protocols from state and local health agencies and the FHSAA.

We will follow these guidelines as things continue to improve in our communities. In the event that there is an emergency order that requires an adjustment to these guidelines, we will notify you all immediately. Again, thank you for your continued support during this challenging school year.

Sincerely,

Dr. Rick Surrency
Superintendent
