The Putnam County School District is thrilled to announce the official name of the 'Palatka A' facility: Palatka Intermediate School! Set to open its doors for the 2026-27 school year, this incredible new school will proudly serve students in grades 3 through 6, creating a dynamic and supportive learning environment tailored to their success.
Palatka Intermediate School represents the future of education in Putnam County. This state-of-the-art campus, currently under construction on the Palatka A site, is designed with safety, innovation, and growth in mind. It will provide students with cutting-edge resources and opportunities to excel academically and personally.
The recent site tour by the Bond Oversight Committee (BOC) marked an exciting milestone in this transformative project. The BOC, along with the Design Advisory Committee (DAC) and Superintendent Rick Surrency, have been instrumental in ensuring this school reflects the highest standards and serves as a source of pride for our community.
Superintendent Surrency shared his vision during the tour:
“Palatka Intermediate School will be a cornerstone of our commitment to shaping the future of Putnam County. It’s an honor to work alongside our community to build a space where students will thrive, dream big, and achieve great things. This is an investment in our children and their futures, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s to come.”
This unveiling marks the next chapter in PCSD’s Revitalization initiative, a district-wide effort to bring modern, inspiring learning spaces to our students.
