Crescent City Elementary Ground Breaking

The Crescent City community came together this morning to celebrate the groundbreaking of the highly anticipated new elementary school.

CC ElementaryThe ceremony began with Dr. Rick Surrency, Superintendent of the Putnam County School District, who extended a warm welcome to all attendees and expressed heartfelt appreciation for the steadfast support of the Crescent City community. 

Following the welcome, School Board Chair, Sandy Gilyard, delivered a moving invocation, setting a tone of reflection and anticipation.

Mayor Michele Myers shared the impact the new elementary school will have on both the educational landscape and the community as a whole. 

Principal Tiffany Scranton of Middleton Burney Elementary School offered a unique perspective on the anticipated changes. She introduced the students and staff who attended the event highlighting two staff members, Sandra Dean and Tami Phoulom, who have served at MBES for 34 years!

CC ElementaryThe ceremony marks a significant milestone for Crescent City Elementary School and reflects the ongoing progress of the Putnam County School District’s initiatives, supported by the recent bond referendum.
