Putnam County School District Excels in Recruiting Efforts at Career Fairs

In a dedicated effort to connect with potential educators, the Putnam County School District has been actively participating in career fairs, marking a total of 12 attended so far this year. The district has consistently maintained a robust presence at key educational institutions, ensuring a steady pipeline of talented individuals for their team.

This year, the district has been a part of career fairs at prominent universities including UNF (University of North Florida) in both Spring and Fall, USF (University of South Florida) in both seasons, Flagler College in both Spring and Fall, UCF (University of Central Florida) in both semesters, SJRSC (St. Johns River State College) in the Fall, UF (University of Florida) in the Spring, UGA (University of Georgia) in the Spring, and Valdosta State University in the Spring.

The importance of attending these fairs is underscored by the district's commitment to meeting and engaging with potential future employees. On average, each fair allows the district to connect with 240 prospective educators, providing a platform to share crucial information about the Putnam County School District and its unique opportunities.

Reflecting on the outcomes of last year's efforts, the district successfully hired 5 individuals from various career fairs and an additional 11 through the "Grow Your Own" program. This program, designed to nurture and develop local talent, has proven to be a significant source of new recruits for the district.
