This year, the top award of the evening went to Palatka Junior-Senior High School senior Allison “Allie” Tillis. She was the recipient of the Robert W. Webb Award of Excellence, presented by Doug Webb.

Allison "Allie" Tillis is the daughter of Daniel and Amy Tillis. During High School, Allie has been active in sports, clubs, and academics.  Allies was on the Varsity Swim team for four seasons and Varsity Softball for three seasons. While swimming, she qualified for regionals every year.  As a softball player, Allie was selected to the Putnam County All County Teams as a Junior.  She is in FFA and serves on the Putnam County Fair Youth Advisory Committee.  Through FFA, Allie competed in several events including State Livestock Judging and Parliamentary Procedure where her team was Sub-District champions.  Allie has also served as Treasurer and Secretary of FFA. This year, Allie was selected to join National Honor Society.  Outside of school, Allie is a member of New Hope Baptist Church and holds a part-time job at Country Feed and General Store. Allie can’t wait to see what God has in store for her future.

Upon graduation, Allie plans to attend St Johns River State College to finish her Associate in Arts degree and then transfer to the University of Florida to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences.

“Mr. Webb valued and exemplified excellence both in character and community involvement,” said Superintendent Rick Surrency, who explained the history of the event, which is sponsored by the Palatka Daily News. “Tonight, he would truly be proud of all of our scholars who meet and exceed this standard.”
