Did You Know...

That according to recognized aerodynamic tests the bumble bee should not be able to fly because of the shape of its body in relationship to its total wing area. Yet, the bumble bee, not knowing this flies anyway.

Just like our incredible students.

The Buzz From the Hive....

We have passed the halfway mark of a busy year that continues to be full of changes.
We would like to take a moment to welcome two new members to our busy hive. Cardinal Collins joins us as an instructor and Darryl Williams joins as an instructional assistant. Both have been added to our EBD department. We are glad they have become a part of out team.

At this juncture in the year we are gearing up for the FCAT and Alternative Assessment tests.
Regardless of what test your child takes it is important that they are well rested and ready to do their best when they are tested.
The information their teachers get from these evaluation tools assist them in making important educational decisions about their students.

There are many events coming up in the second semester.
Please check the calendar link for information on dates and times.
The Valentine's Day Dance, Easter Parade, Field Day, Prom, and Graduation all take place during this busy half of the year.

There is another important event that occurs during the second semester of each school year. The annual EBD Reward Trip in the month of May.
Our EBD students work very hard every day to develop better ways to handle their emotions and behaviors.
Those students who have done an exceptional job during the year are rewarded with a trip.
This year the trip is to Sea World.
We all know trips take money.
One way the staff is helping raise money is through a silent auction.
Area businesses have donated a variety of items and services for this auction. The items can be found here.
If you are interested in bidding on an item please call the school(386)329-0595 and speak with Ms. Georgia Florence.

E.H. Miller's School Advisory Council meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 1:00 p.m. Parents and community members are invited to join us to discuss their ideas.

Our school is joining with other schools in supporting the March of Dimes.
If you would like to contribute, please call the school (386)329-0595 and speak to Susan Emmons or Karen Johnson.
