We are excited for the 2024-2025 school year as we work with our students and families to provide more virtual options for our diverse learners. Online learning provides incredible benefits and opportunities for customization and addressing family needs, but we don’t want the absence of face to face instruction to cause separation or feelings of isolation. With that in mind, we will continue to further foster a community environment for our students and families via our communication outlets, personal communication and face to face events. Virtual learning is not the best option for every student, but our program has been blessed with hard working parents and students who value the benefits and opportunities afforded by being an online learner in a Public Virtual School. We know that the 2024-2025 school year will be our best yet!

During your time with Putnam Virtual School, you will work closely with Bonnie Putman. This year marks Bonnie’s 26th year in public education. She has worked as an elementary school teacher and as an Assistant Principal. She has worked in the Duval County, St. Johns County, and Putnam County School Districts. She is certified in Elementary Education (1-6), Educational Leadership (K-12), and holds ESOL and Reading Endorsement (K-12). She earned a BA in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from University of North Florida. This will be her 5th year with Putnam Virtual School.

Mrs. Putman facilitates the application process, conducts student interviews, assists in making enrollment decisions, progress monitors students weekly, oversees our Intensive Reading & Math courses, and communicates with students and families, as well as MDVS representatives and course instructors. She is the school testing coordinator and will also serve as school counselor to students and parents helping guide them in making course decisions and planning for the future.
