1 - Who determines how the differentiated pay will be awarded?
A – A committee of 6 (3 union / 3 admin)
2 – How will the awards be determined?
A – The committee will determine the ‘buckets’ or groups of instructional personnel that will receive funds based on one or more of the following areas: additional responsibilities, school demographics, level of job difficulty, district or state defined critical shortage areas (these areas are listed on the Differentiated Pay Plan Rubric)
3 – How will district critical shortage areas (hard to staff) be determined?
A – Human Resources will pull reports from FastTrack showing positions that have been re-posted multiple times or areas that have had to be contracted out. This report will be given to the committee.
4 – Can a teacher submit a request on his/her own behalf?
A – Yes. However, the request is to be sent to his/her principal. If the principal agrees with the request, then he/she writes a supporting letter to be attached with the teacher’s request. If the principal does not agree, the teacher’s request is submitted with the Differentiated Pay Plan Rubric only. All requests are to be sent to the Director of Human Resources.
5 – How much can be awarded?
A – Total amount designated for instructional is $60,000 that will be disbursed based on the criteria for each ‘bucket’.
6 – When does this process occur?
A – The committee will meet in the spring to determine awards, with disbursements occurring no later than June 30.

Administrative & Support Personnel
Non-Instructional (Classified) Personnel
1 – Who determines how the differentiated pay will be awarded?
A – A committee of 3 district level administrators
2 – How is an employee considered for differentiated pay?
A – An employee’s administrator or direct supervisor will submit a letter of recommendation with a detailed explanation with the differentiated pay plan rubric attached to the Director of Human Resources.
4 – Can an employee submit a request on his/her own behalf?
A – Yes. However, the request is to be sent to his/her administrator/supervisor. If the administrator/supervisor agrees with the request, then he/she writes a supporting letter to be attached along with the employee’s request and the Differentiated Pay Plan Request Form for Administrative & Support Personnel/Non-Instructional (Classified) Personnel. If the supervisor does not agree, the employee’s request is submitted with the Differentiated Pay Plan Request Form only. All requests are to be sent to the Director of Human Resources.
5 – How much can be awarded?
A – Total amount designated for administrative & support personnel is $40,000 that will be disbursed by the committee until the amount is depleted.
6 – When does this process occur?
A – The committee will meet on a monthly basis until June. All awards will be made by June 30.
